Dear Cheryl,
I finally learned to use the computer so I could wish you a very Happy Easter! and tell you all about my new home and family.
I was a little concerned when I first came to Demopolis. Becky said it was so obvious that I loved you still. When I took my first nap and woke up, I was pretty worried. I was just lost, but Becky started her mother-hen routine and we were just fine. Mark says it is obvious that I am Becky's little girl.
Last time I went to camp I weighed 10.4 pounds. The ladies at my vet's office in Tuscaloosa keep me when Becky and/or Mark are in Tuscaloosa for the day. Becky has an office there, too. Her boss loves dogs and made Becky pick me up early one day and take me to Alabama Power to see her! I also make regular trips to Becky's Demopolis office, Mark's real estate office, and to Bill York's house on the farm.
My only dog-buddy is Rock. He is Bill's Boykin Spaniel and I am all over him. He is younger than I am, but Becky says we will have to be careful as he will grow up to be larger than I am.....
In February I stayed at Copeland's in Mobile when Becky and Mark went to the Mardi Gras ball at the Grand Hotel. The place is pretty cool. They played with me and groomed me. (Becky sprang for the high dollar suite!) I was really beautiful when my folks came back. They had to wait until they saw Becky coming to stick those red bows in my hair. I pulled them out every time, but they really wanted Becky to see them.
I have a pretty cool little scar from my surgery, but my hair is rapidly covering it. The surgery was a breeze. I did not even have to stay over night. Becky was relieved that I did not try to pull out my little staples! They thought they could keep me calm and safe when I got home, but I really showed them....
there is a three foot drop from the kitchen to the den....first thing I did was to sprint up the steps, get a good start and sail through the banister onto the sofa seat! Becky was screaming!
The back yard hear is pretty cool. The chain link fence keeps out the riff-raff and I still have a good view of the golf course. You should see the gold fish pond! Good drinking water! They just will not let me stay out by myself. They think I am still a baby, but I am a big girl now! The water here tastes kinda funny, but I love playing in it! I like to get a good bite of it from the water hose! Also, I tease Becky about digging up the things she plants!
I have an Orvis dog nest bed up stairs and down, but the upstairs one is just for show. I sleep in the big bed with my folks. They just could not stand the howling!
Becky put up my special toy that came from Louisiana with me. Said I was destructive. I have a yellow pig and a pink puppy that spend the day in my condo crate with me while my folks are working. When they come home, I run straight outside to please, then I run straight back in to free the pig and the puppy. These two humans are really suckers for buying toys for me. They have extras hid in the pantry and think I do not know!
We got a new camera the other day. When Bill comes tomorrow we will get set up to send photos to you. Wait until you see me! I am beautiful! Becky and Mark say I am way more healthy and have way better hair than Peaches or Peppermint! They know you got me off to a good start!
We have received my AKC papers. My real name is Mark's Lucky Penny Louisiana. Lucky because I was number 13 on your web site, Penny because Becky's mother started calling me Penny the first time she saw me. Her first little dog's name was Penny. And, Louisiana because that's where I started off. Becky put her name on the papers so I would really be just her poodle, but we decided we should include Mark since he really takes good care of me when Becky is away for work.
I spent four days on Dauphin Island with Mark while he painted on Bill's condo. I met "the boys" who belong to Bill's friend on the island. They were pretty cool poodles, but a little larger than I am, so Mark would not let me go wild!
Guess I had better check on my folks now. Hope you have a great Easter and say hello to all the other pups for me!
Becky said to be sure and thank you for giving me such a good start in life. I really am glad you decided to let me live with Becky and Mark. They really try to take good care of me and I know they love me very much.
Love,
Penny
